Our Mission

Found. Reclaimed. Reborn.

We believe the finest things are not made — they are found, reclaimed, and reborn. Hearthborn rescues storied wood from Tennessee's waters and gives it a second life as heirloom craftsmanship worthy of the next hundred years.

Every piece of driftwood that washes along Fountain Creek — the creek that runs through our 1802 homestead in Culleoka — carries decades, sometimes centuries, of Tennessee history in its grain. We don't just build furniture. We give that history a place of honor in your home.

The wood remembers what the river taught it. Our hands simply help it speak.

The Craftsman

Anthony Moreschi

Woodworking has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Long before I ever wore a uniform, I was working with my hands — learning the grain, respecting the material, understanding that the best things in life are built, not bought.

That drive led me to serve my country in Special Operations, where multiple combat tours taught me discipline, precision, and the belief that anything worth doing is worth doing right. When I came home, I brought those lessons back to the craft I had loved all along.

I settled on a 230-acre farm in the small town of Culleoka, Tennessee — land that was first homesteaded in 1802, just six years after Tennessee became a state. Fountain Creek runs straight through the property, and it is the same water that delivers the raw material for every piece I build. What the creek gives up, I give new life.

Today, Hearthborn is where a lifelong passion and hard-earned discipline come together. I am working the same ground that settlers carved out over two centuries ago, pulling timber from the same creek they crossed. Every piece I create is built to outlast me, to be passed down to my son and beyond. This is not a hobby. It is a legacy.

The Find

Every piece begins at the water's edge. We walk the banks of Fountain Creek — right here on our 230 acres in Culleoka — and the rivers of Tennessee, searching for wood with character. Timber that has been shaped by decades of current, weather, and time on the same land settlers first broke ground in 1802.

II

The Story

We document where and when each piece was found, research the species and estimated age of the tree, and record the conditions that brought it to rest. This provenance becomes part of the finished piece forever.

III

The Rebirth

Through careful handcraftsmanship, each piece of salvaged wood is transformed into an heirloom — a table, a light fixture, a countertop — built to carry its story forward for the next hundred years.

The Hearthstone Table

Species
Black Walnut
Estimated Age
~140 Years
Found
Fountain Creek, TN
Date Recovered
March 2025
Dimensions
96″ × 42″ × 30″

Hand-rubbed tung oil

This black walnut was found lodged against a limestone outcropping along the eastern bend of Fountain Creek following a spring storm. Ring counting and species analysis estimate the tree germinated around 1885, making it a witness to over a century of Tennessee history. The natural live edge was preserved, and the heartwood was stabilized with traditional joinery techniques passed down through generations of Appalachian woodworkers.
